6 Signs Your Life Is Total Chaos + How To Restore Balance

Inner chaos can take many forms in our outer lives, including burnout, health problems, financial distress, and relationship issues. The most important thing to understand is that inner frenzy is what causes the outer chaos (not the other way around).
From an energetic standpoint, the person’s strength, balance, and protection have been compromised. Although a vacation may feel good and give some relief, it won’t create the deeper shifts needed to restore and maintain inner balance.

Here are 6 signs you're out of balance:
  1. You find yourself reacting to everything, including things people say and to conditions outside your control.
  2. You have lingering unidentified health issues, such as fatigue, and/or symptoms that change regularly.
  3. Your life has taken on an erratic flow and it feels as if life is “happening to you” and everything is at the mercy of chance.
  4. Every little thing becomes an emergency in your mind.
  5. Your business is struggling, clients are canceling, or you are attracting all of the wrong people to you.
  6. You are too tired to recognize or enforce your own emotional, personal and professional boundaries.
If your outer life is in chaos right now, you may feel overwhelmed and believe there is nothing you can do to achieve inner balance. Don’t believe that thought!
Here are 5 things you can do right now to begin restoring your inner balance:
1. Slow down.
The first thing you must do is establish control over your time by slowing down. Although this may feel counterproductive when it seems there is so much to do, you'll actually accomplish more in less time and in a more pleasant way.
2. Live in the now.
The fewer thoughts you have about your past or future, the more you'll be present to your own inner guidance. The more focused you are on “now,” the more time will seem to slow down.
3. Use all of your senses.
To keep yourself focused in the present and to slow down runaway thoughts, use all of your senses. Stop right now and become aware of your sense of touch. What is under your fingertips, or what are you holding? What does it feel like? Is it hot, cold, smooth, or rough? Do this with each of your senses: what you smell, see, hear, and taste, in order to bring you back to the present. The more you concentrate on using all of your senses, the more natural it will become.
4. Let go of control.
Having a vision for your life and setting goals is not the same thing as controlling your life. It's great to know what you want for your life and to take the daily steps down that path, but let go of having to know exactly how and when everything will happen. Allow things to progress at their own pace so that you develop trust in the flow of life and release the rigid rhythm that blocks the unexpected miracles and synchronistic events. Stop making things harder than they have to be.
5. Break old patterns.
Believe it or not, simply breaking rigid or “thoughtless” habits one by one, will begin to erode negative patterns and beliefs. Thoughtless habits are things that we do, but have never really stopped and given any thought to why we do them.
Let’s say, for example, you have always driven the same unpleasant route to work every day. What are your alternatives? Perhaps taking the train would give you time to sit back, relax, or read on the way to work? Maybe another route is a little longer, and is a much more pleasant and scenic ride? When we stop for a moment and look at why and how we do the things we do each day, we come up with more creative and less stressful ways to do them or may even find we can eliminate some of them altogether.
Be kind and patient with yourself. When you begin shifting your focus away from your outer world and pay more attention to your inner world, your outer world will miraculously begin taking care of itself.
