Yachts, subways, and even town have been abandoned for
different reasons. Find out the mysteries of those places.
The Cincinnati Subway is the largest
abandoned subway tunnel in the States. Being constructed in the early
twentieth century, the project was never completed.
The Brazilian yacht “Mar Sem Fin” sank off
the coast of Antarctica, likely due to ice compression and strong winds.
El Hotel Del Salto in Colombia was opened
in 1928 for wealthy travelers visiting the Tequendama Falls. Then Bogota
river was polluted and tourists gradually lost their interest to the
area. The hotel was closed down in the early 90’s and then was
abandoned.
Pripyat is a modern ghost town near the
Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plan (Ukraine), where the catastrophic nuclear
accident occurred on 26 April 1986.
North Brother Island is the 13-acre island,
close to New York City, that has been abandoned since 1963.
