Understing the power of will

" Nothing and nobody can force your will or steal victory from your hands and overthrow you against your will. God endowed our free will with such power, that even if all a man's faculties, the whole world and the demons rose up in arms against him and attacked him, the could not compel him." That tired oldsaying, " The devil made me do it." Is a complete farce. The devil has absolutely no power over you. None. For indeed if the devil did have power over you, me and the whole of the world - we would all truly be lost and this world would be in total chaos. Churches would be burned, outlawed. And the laws would favor the strong only and never the weak. No, the devil has no power over you other than what you give him. Let me repeat that, the only power the devil has over you is that which you give him power over. In otherwords, the moment you seek out sin and sinful ways, you invite the devil into your life. This is not to say that a Godly man is not attacked by the devil, on the contrary. The Godly man is attacked with even greater cunning and fierce attacks. The more Godward a man attains, the more fierce and cunning the attacks. The reason, because the devil is powerless. The person who yells the most in an argument is generally the one with power. Why? Because the yeller has no other option. This is too with the devil. Oh spends time maintaining his twisted flock of sinners, ensuring that they continue to sin. But the sinner is easy to control as the sinner has already given up control over himself. Butthe devil remains focused on the Godly man as this hater of mankind sees the Godly man as a challenge. And the devil, being a rechid clinger of pride, can not fathom that a lowly human would have more self-discipline over themselves than he did. Remember, the devil used to be an angel, before his fall of pride. And his vanity can not accept defeat. So attacks, and keeps on attacking until your body has been exhausted and (God-willing) you have returned to the father. God loves those who endure this struggle for His sake. Every little effort you make towards changing your life be more Godward focused,is known to Him. He encourages and helps you become even stronger. And yes, sometimes, to help us be stronger in our pathto God, He allows the devil's attacks to push us to the very limits. Not because God wants the devil to succeed, but because He wants usto continue to be strong in our Godly efforts. A solider that is not challenged is of no value to the field commander. Any army commander will tell you that a well-seasoned, well-trained. and experienced soldier is worth ten new ones who have no experienceand little training. And if you fall, do not be disappointed nor berate yourself excessively (for remember this is a sign of vanity and pride). No failure isour birthright. It was the legacy hand down to us by Adam. So it is expected of us. But be prepared, for the devil will come to give your rest, provide you comfort in your hard struggles. Even give a soft ear to listen and sympathize with your failings. And even encourage your giving up the fight. Maybe not all at once, maybe little by little. He will come to you with a soft touch, a fragrant smile. But this deadly asp is using trickery. Fail? Yes you will fail, we will all fail. But that iswhy Jesus taught how to pray. To lend our strength to God's mighty strength. Push back this devil's attempts to cause you to give up the fight. It is the fight worth dying for. Whenyou have failed, you will probably already be on your knees. That is the exact right time and position to pray to God for help. And hear this most of all - God hears your cries forhelp. Know that for certain. He will act to help you, but maybe not in a way you expect. So when you pray to God for help, believe it that God will help. And then rise from your kneeling, stare the devil in the face and say,"God has heard my prayer and therefore I need nothing from you." And you will hear the devil scream a scream that will break glass. The devil hates that. He hates getting you to the point of almost accepting his trickeries, then turning to God. That my blessed child of God's love, is the power of free will. There is a great scene in the Gospels, at the garden of Gethsemane, when the Roman soldiers (led by Judas) came to collect Jesus. Simon Peter struck a soldier with his sword and Jesus said, " Do you think that I cannot pray to My Father, and He will provide Me more than twelve legions of angels?" (a) . The point was to illustrate that power, that is to say physical might, will not win the war over death. It is only the submission to God's will using the power God entrusted us with - freewill. When we freely pursue the will of God, then does the power of God's might flow through us. For God wants us to come to Him freely, not with force. The devil enslaves, but God sets free. God loves you, how are u given yourself totally to as a young achiever. Think about your will.
